Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all that recently attended our first meeting of the year! We had a great turnout and are excited to host more interesting and technical presentations to ensure we all can continue to learn and grow! If there is a specific topic you would like to see a presentation for, please reach out to myself or our President-Elect Megan Maes.

Our 15th Annual Golf Tournament is coming up next week! This will be held on Friday October 9th at Arrowcreek Golf Course. There are only (2) team spots still available! If you would still like to participate in raising funds for Research Promotions, there are still sponsorships available including the Trophies/Awards Donation. If you have registered for a team, please make sure you get your players’ names to Bryan Tilton as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing all of you there!
Beyond your local membership, the 2027 AHR Expo will be January 25-27th in Chicago (https://www.ahrexpo.com/). More than 1900 manufacturers and suppliers will showcase innovations across the HVAC/R fields along with industry seminars, panels with professionals in the industry, and opportunities to earn PDHs. This will be a great opportunity to get a first look into the major changes and innovations expected to hit our industry.

Air Distribution and Efficiency Through Air Turnover Systems
Bio
Jacob Wycoff is a Representative Sales Manager for Cambridge Air Solutions with significant experience in the HVAC industry focusing on applied HVAC systems and energy-efficiency optimization. He previously served as a Senior Applications Engineer with Cambridge Air Solutions. Jacob holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Construction Business in Construction Management from the University of Oklahoma.
Topic
This presentation will explore the fundamentals of air distribution in high-bay commercial and industrial facilities and how air turnover systems can be applied to improve comfort, efficiency, and overall building performance. Topics will include thermal stratification, air mixing, equipment sizing and placement, system controls, and the impact of air distribution on heating and cooling energy consumption. The presentation will also discuss air turnover strategies to help reduce hot and cold spots, manage infiltration, support ventilation requirements, and provide an effective alternative to traditional extensively ducted HVAC systems in high-bay facilities.

The ASHRAE HVAC Design Training is headed back to Salt Lake City after a couple years, and we’re excited to bring a revamped, all-new Level II course reconstructed by the creators themselves, Julia Keen and Joel Primeau! HVAC Design: Level I – Essentials
ASHRAE’s HVAC Design: Level I – Essentials training provides participants with instruction that accelerates their transformation into effective members of a design, construction, or facilities maintenance team. Developed by industry-leading professionals selected by ASHRAE, the training provides attendees with the fundamentals and technical aspects of HVAC design. Attendees will gain practical skills and knowledge to design and maintain HVAC systems that can be put to immediate use.
In addition to gaining in-depth knowledge and understanding, attendees will receive real-world examples of HVAC systems based on the renovated ASHRAE Headquarters building. The training also teaches a systematic approach to guide a design team to a solution that optimally meets the client’s expectations.
